NEIRO seeking applicants for Open Call Artist Residency
NEIRO invites artists from all disciplines to take part in its artist residency in Prague.
During your stay, you will have access to a fully equipped living space where you can focus entirely on your creative work. The program also offers the opportunity to publicly present your project (for residencies of four weeks or longer), with financial and production support provided by NEIRO.
The residency is suitable for visual artists, who can use the space as a studio for drawing, painting, or other visual arts, as well as for performers, sound artists, and audiovisual creators, who can work in the technically equipped NEIRO studio.
The main goal of the residency is to support the creative development of artists in a new, inspiring environment where they can fully dedicate themselves to their practice and draw new inspiration from their surroundings.
We also aim to connect the Czech and international art scenes, encouraging mutual exchange, collaboration, and the emergence of new creative impulses.
NEIRO believes that the growth of contemporary art depends on space, time, and dialogue between diverse approaches, cultures, and disciplines.
Program Details
Residencies at NEIRO can last from one week to several weeks, depending on individual arrangements.
The residency space is located in the quiet and inspiring Prague district of Dejvice. Residents have access to a comfortable living and working space suitable for the development of their projects.
If your work requires a larger area (for example, for movement or installation), it is possible to arrange additional studio space for longer residencies.
An important part of the program is introducing artists to the Czech art scene through meetings with local artists, curators, and institutions.
At the conclusion of the residency (for stays of at least four weeks), residents are invited to present their work publicly in a format that best suits their project — such as an exhibition, performance, screening, public intervention, concert, theater or dance piece, or author’s reading.
The NEIRO team provides production support and helps residents connect with Czech artists and cultural organizations.
