Anna Kryvenko: Easier Than You Think

Neiro Můstek art lab presents a short film by Ukrainian filmmaker Anna Kryvenko. Easier than you think uses a simple juxtaposition principle and contrasts footage from the wars of the 21st century.
The rules of our world are changing. It changes dynamically and unexpectedly. With dire consequences, crisis follows crisis. Many people create escape strategies to find inner balance and thereby balance the shaky world around them. The exhibition Easier Than You Think thematizes this salutary avoidance and evasion and draws attention to the dangers arising from the constant flow of media images of war, violence, disasters and misery within the framework of the film of the same name by Ukrainian filmmaker Anna Kryvenko.

Anna is a visual artist, filmmaker and photographer. She is a graduate of the Center for Audiovisual Studies at FAMU in Prague. She studied theater direction at KNUTKT in Kyiv and alternative theater direction at DAMU in Prague. Her films and performances were screened at the Fluidum Festival, MFDF Jihlava, Intermedia BB or Visions du Reél. She collaborated on several group exhibitions. Her found-footage film Quietly as a Comet won the award for the best experimental work at FAMUfest. For the film Poslechnout horizont, she won the Best Czech Experimental Documentary Award at the MFDF Jihlava. Her latest film – feature debut – My Unknown Soldier premiered at the DOK Leipzig (DE) and MFDF Jihlava (CZ) festivals.
